It is the policy of MPX to manage all its activities and operations in a responsible manner that protects the health and safety of its employees, contractors and public and minimises adverse impact on the environment.
Overall responsibility and accountability for the EHS Policy lies with the Managing Director of MPX Energy Limited. All employees, consultants and contractors are required to familiarise themselves with legislative and Company requirements applicable to their functions, and with the particular risks and environmental sensitivities of the area or areas in which the Company is conducting its operations.
The MPX Environmental, Health and Safety Management System defines the requirements for management of operations to ensure EHS performance and to achieve the goals of the EHS Policy. The Management System complies with international (e.g. ISO14001) and UK (e.g. HS(G)65) standards for health, safety and environmental management and has been externally verified by Lloyds Register as required by OSPAR Recommendation 2003/5. Annual environmental performance reports will be submitted to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change and made publically available as operations commence.
