
Doug graduated from Imperial College with a M.Sc. (Distinction) in Petroleum Geology. He has 26 years oil & gas industry experience, 23 of which are with operating companies. He has extensive knowledge of all aspects of exploration and development, including 15 years as a technical manager or director. In particular, he has been closely associated with multi-disciplinary teams, either in Exploration, Development Geoscience or in Exploration New Ventures, in particular working as ARCO’s ‘Missed Pay Specialist’ and more recently with ATP Oil and Gas (UK) Ltd and Serica Energy (UK) Ltd. Doug served as treasurer of the PESGB in 2002-03 and is now a member of the Audit Panel of The Geological Society.
Rod graduated from the University of Wales with a B.Sc. in Geophysics and has spent 26 years in the oil & gas industry undertaking seismic acquisition (land and marine), processing (time and depth) and principally, interpretation. Rod’s wide experience includes the appropriate use of seismic inversion, attributes and reservoir characterisation over the whole range of geological environments; rifts, foldbelts and forelands; both clastic and carbonate reservoirs; post/sub salt and sub basalt targets. Additionally, Rod has been an active member of several multi-disciplinary teams looking at projects as diverse as frontier exploration, prospect definition, field development studies and equity determinations.
Martin graduated from Camborne School of Mines with a B.Eng. in Mining Engineering. During his 16 years in the oil & gas industry, Martin has gained detailed experience in reservoir, petroleum, production and drilling engineering, including significant operational exposure. In addition to his engineering expertise, Martin also has a strong background in the commercial and financial aspects of the upstream industry, including the negotiation of a full suite of UK North Sea gas offtake agreements. Martin’s geographical experience encompasses the Middle East, Offshore West Africa, South East Asia and the South Atlantic.
Jacqui has 26 years managerial, administrative and
technical experience gained across a broad range of industries in the UK and
overseas, the last 15 years of which have been in the oil & gas sector. She
has recent experience in public and private corporate administration and company
secretarial functions with Serica Energy plc and her background includes
investor relations, personnel management, and health and safety co-ordination.
Jacqui is currently studying for a degree in Geosciences with the Open
University.
James qualified as a chartered accountant (ACA) in 1983 after gaining a B.Sc.
in Geology from Exeter University. James spent 20 years in the financial
services sector with particular focus on financial operations and compliance;
including key management appointments and directorships at LIFFE Ltd, The London
Clearing House Ltd and Cargill Investor Services Ltd. In 2002 he became an
independent consultant and has worked with a wide range of companies on a
variety of accounting, financial and fund raising issues.
Jon was previously Vice President, Administration and
Investor Relations at Serica Energy Corporation and a member of their management
team from the foundation of the Company. He has 31 years commercial experience,
half of which has been spent in the Far East with companies as diverse as
Lesney, TNT and PhotoMe International. In the 1980’s Jon founded and eventually
sold his own company, Johnson’s Fresh Products Ltd which focussed on fresh
juices. In 1994 he formed a Business Consultancy specialising in advice and fund
raising to diverse start-up companies.
Frank graduated from Aberdeen University with a M.Sc. in Palynology. He has
27 years experience in the oil industry, of which 19 years have been with
operating companies, including Chevron and ARCO. Upon leaving ARCO he joined PGL
as Principal Geologist where he was instrumental in setting up Ternan Ltd and
acted as its Exploration Director. Frank has worked in exploration in the UK,
Ireland, Turkey, the Middle East, Egypt, West Africa, India, Pakistan and
Indonesia. His areas of technical expertise include all aspects of exploration
geology, seismic interpretation and basin modelling.
Marilyn graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology from Durham University, followed by
a M.Sc. in Marine Earth Science from University College, London. She has 31
years oil & gas industry experience mainly gained at Amoco and ARCO. She is
an interpretation geophysicist and prospect generator and has acquired extensive
knowledge and expertise in all aspects of exploration and field
development/management. Following the closure of ARCO, Marilyn worked for new
entrants, Tullow and EOG Resources, assisting them to establish and build their
asset bases in the UK.
Adam graduated from Imperial College with a M.Sc. in Petroleum Geology. He
has 26 years oil industry experience, including 21 years within operating
companies. He combines a strong set of geologic and oil finding skills with
commercial expertise and has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of
exploration and field appraisal activities from a number of basins. Adam’s
technical strengths include prospect generation, formation evaluation and
seismic interpretation. His commercial strengths, gained as a Commercial Manager
with ARCO, Powergen and Centrica, include economic and risk assessment of
investment opportunities and negotiation of commercial agreements.
