In July 2009, the Marram appraisal well (110/4-2) operated by Venture North Sea Gas Ltd was drilled by the Ensco 92 jack-up rig. It reached a depth of 2,020 ft and encountered a gas column of 469 ft in the Ormskirk Sandstone. The Field is thought to contain significant quantities of hydrocarbons excluding a material nitrogen content. The Operator has presented a 2010 technical work programme and budget which should address the key development issues.

With the support of partners, work on the pre-development project phase for Orlando undeveloped discovery (originally flowing at circa 3,000 bopd) commenced in the fourth quarter 2009. The Group is working towards a first oil date of 2011 or 2012.

The award of only a small part of Block 9/9 was not an ideal outcome of the 25th Licensing Round application but there is a 3D reprocessing commitment over a Paleocene prospect. The Group hopes to complete the reprocessing and evaluation in the first half of 2010.
Commitment: 3D reprocessing and one contingent well before 11th February 2013
Cordelia is a Paleocene Andrew prospect and some 500 kms2 of reprocessed data was purchased in late 2009 to fulfil the commitment.
