UKCS Licence P1548

Licence P1548 (Blocks 110/4 and 110/9b) was awarded to Hannu Exploration Limited in the UKCS 24th Licensing Round Promote section. Hannu is a 100% owned subsidiary of MPX Energy Limited. The Licence was farmed out to Venture North Sea Gas Limited in 2008 who successfully appraised the Marram Gas Field in 2009. The well (110/4-2) encountered a 469 ft gas column reservoired in high quality Ormskirk Sandstone. The well was not tested but took several gas samples confirming that the nitrogen content, although less than the original well, was still material. A development is possible and the options will be reviewed by the new Operator, Centrica Energy, who own most of the nearby infrastructure. Hannu has retained a 30% interest in the Licence.

Located in the Morecambe Bay area of the East Irish Sea, the Blocks lie within 15 kms of the North and South Morecambe gas fields (6.7 tcf GIIP combined), the Hamilton gas condensate fields (860 bcf GIIP combined) and the Lennox oil and gas field (180 mmbbls STOIIP plus 500 bcf GIIP).

UK Onshore Licence 248

PEDL 248, Block TQ54, was awarded in the 13th UK Onshore Licensing Round. The Block is located west of Tonbridge in Kent. MPX Resources Limited holds a 30% interest in the Licence, together with Midmar Energy UK Limited (formerly the Operator of the nearby Brockham Field) who holds the remaining 70%. The partnership intends to reprocess existing seismic data on the Block and potentially drill a well in 2010.
