UKCS Licence P1548
Licence P1548 (Blocks 110/4 and 110/9b) was awarded to Hannu Exploration Limited in the UKCS 24th Licensing Round Promote section. Hannu is a 100% owned subsidiary of MPX Limited. Since award, the Licence has been farmed out to Venture North Sea Gas Limited and Hannu has reduced its interest to 30%. Venture plans to drill a well in 2009.
Located in the Morecambe Bay area of the East Irish Sea, the Blocks lie within 15 kms of the North and South Morecambe gas fields (6.7 tcf GIIP combined), the Hamilton gas condensate fields (860 bcf GIIP combined) and the Lennox oil and gas field (180 mmbbls STOIIP plus 500 bcf GIIP).
The Licence contains the Marram gas field, discovered by well 110/4-1, which is thought to contain some 86 bcf of hydrocarbon reserves. The well encountered an 84 ft gas column in extremely good quality Sherwood Sandstone within a structure that has a mapped relief of a further 550 ft updip.
UK Onshore Licence 248
PEDL 248, Block TQ54, was awarded to MPX Energy Limited in the 13th UK Onshore Licensing Round. The Block is located west of Tonbridge in Kent. MPX has a 30% interest in the Licence, together with Midmar Energy Onshore Limited (the Operator of the nearby Brockham Field) who has the remaining 70%. The partnership intends to reprocess existing seismic data on the Block.
