MPX’s heritage and consequent missed pay focus can be traced back to the mid-1990’s and ARCO’s successful Missed Pay team led by Doug Fenwick, one of the founders of MPX. It was during this period that the “art” of missed pay recognition was integrated with real science, producing a systematic process. That process, together with the underlying scientific method, holds the key to repeatability and to generating the best prospects.
MPX is the re-creation of the same principles updated with new ideas and concepts combined with the addition more conventional exploration targets. The core management team comprises the founder members Doug Fenwick, Rod Crawford, Martin Rowe and Jacqueline Kilford who, together with James Henry and Coen Leo, now form the Board of Directors of MPX (Oil & Gas) Limited. Management and staff alike have many years’ experience, primarily gained with either major or independent operating companies in the UK North Sea and worldwide.
The founders and key personnel have shared histories which go back to the early 1990’s and they have combined to take leading roles in growing the North Sea portfolios of several different independent oil companies in both exploration and development. Management and staff have invested in the Company and remain shareholders alongside Sorgenia International B.V. whose position as controlling shareholder is reinforced by the appointment of three Directors to the Board of MPX Energy Limited.
The MPX Energy Limited Board of Directors is composed of Managing Director Doug Fenwick together with Non Executive Directors Coen Leo, Jon Wood, Federico Dal Poz and Fabio Zanobini. Jacqueline Kilford acts as Company Secretary.
The team are supported by Exploration Advisors Marilyn Merryweather, Peter O'Mara and Adam Harris; Administrative Assistant, Olivia Bellini and Financial Controller, Susan Middlemiss. Chris Williams is the Group's IT Manager. MPX also has a number of associates who provide additional technical expertise and commercial input, when required.
Sadly one of the original senior staff, Frank Barker, passed away in the summer of 2010. Frank was widely recognised in the industry as an original thinker and prospect generator and his successes include the classic missed pay Breagh Field in the UK Southern Gas Basin. His contribution will be sorely missed by all his colleagues but his legacy survives in MPX’s portfolio and prospects.
