Welcome to MPX 
The MPX Group, an exploration enterprise originally formed in January 2006, specialises in finding hydrocarbons through the re-evaluation of previously drilled wells. In June 2009, a subsidiary of Sorgenia E&P S.p.A. took a controlling stake in the parent Company, MPX Energy Limited, through the issue of new shares.
The Company’s objective is to grow through exploration and development, in particular by building a portfolio of exploration prospects and assets by focussing on missed pay — hence the name MPX.
The founder members of MPX have considerable experience in the oil and gas industry and, together with colleagues, form a multi-disciplinary team with a proven track record in the acquisition of oil and gas properties and the finding of hydrocarbons, either through missed pay or more conventional methods. The addition of the managerial and financial resources of Sorgenia has created a Group with all the necessary components required to meet its objectives.
MPX Energy Limited has five subsidiaries. Details of the corporate structure can be found in "The Company" section of this website.
The technical and administrative centre of the Group is MPX (Oil & Gas) Limited, based in Guildford.
